help: qs about audi 1999 a4 1.8t - 162k miles
OK so I bought 1999 Audi A4 1.8 Quattro from this dealer 2 weeks ago I paid in cash 4,900. It had minor problems that he said he was going to fix. Rip leather in driver seat. He fixed it. But there are other minor problems and he's taking his sweet *** time to fix it, its been 2 weeks and its pissing me off because he's taking his sweet time. I already registered it so its too late to return it. I'm basically screwed with it.
It has 162,000 Miles. He has no absolutely idea when it was last maintained or serviced. When the timing belt was changed and water pump. I'm guessing its due for another one if it has to be changed every 80,000 miles. It has 160,000 already so I am definitely going to have to change it.
I have questions as far as what else do I need to do to make sure it doesn't break down on me. My wife needs to go to work every day and we're going to be driving it on weekends too. Her job is 30miles away thats 60 miles roundtrip. So what do I need to do and change and fix to make sure the engine doesn't break and the transmission. It is automatic.
Do I need to get it serviced 100k miles? Change spark plugs..etc..timing belt water pump. What else? Please tell me everything I need to change to make sure its good.
The dealer said he was only going to change the oil and basically it. So do i need to change the trans fluid, steering wheel fluid? what fluids? When I take it to the mechanic to get inspected what should I tell him to change? Or what if he bullshits me and lies that something needs to be changed and it doesnt.
Also, does the steering wheel in an ALL drive (4 wheel drive) harder to turn the wheel than other cars or cars without 4 wheel drive? Because the dealer says so but I don't know if thats entirely true. Maybe he's lying to me.
Also at 162,000 miles is the TURBO gone? Do I need to change it? What should I do? I test drove the car and I didn't feel anything really. I stepped on the gas pedal and it didn't pull or nothing. It drove slowly. I don't know if its me or what. Someone said that turbo only activated when you reach a certain speed? True or not?
Please guys help me out I'm new at this and trying to learn. Please don't bash on me because I am a newbie.
Thanks and I appreciate the good help and answers that I get from you.
