Default Help on reading instrument cluster???

Hey all, I have a question in particular. As you always see once you start the
A4, you'll see the CD and track on the cd, and the Miles you have left on
your tank display on the instrument cluster. Just yesterday, that disappears
and now it shows 20:15h. I have a Check Engine light on eversince I bought
the A4. Can someone who know or has that issue explain it to me so I won't
be too worried sick??? I have a road trip coming tomorrow July 2nd and I
would like to have an answer as soon as possible. Thanks a bunch guys and
girls []

Well in my car (99 A4 QM 1.8T) That is the drive time meter. Shows how long youve been driving. You can cycle through the different options by pressing the end of the wiper switch (may be different on your car). There is

Average Miles Per Gallon
Drive Time
Estimated Miles Left On Tank
Current Miles Per Gallon
Average Miles Per Hour
(not neccassarily in that order)

You can reset the following items:
Drive Time
Average Miles Per Gallon
Average Miles Per Hour

To reset them you have to hold in the button on the bottom of your wiper switch (may be different on your car, just look around the scrolling buttons for another button this should be the one)

You can also turn off the stats screen by pressing the bottom button (or reset button) once. And once again to turn it back on.

Let Me Know if this helped you!

Yeah, it's just the drive time so I reset it as InsaneHatter mention. Thanks!

BTW - I found this one article from Audi World's Tech saying that we A4 should never filled gas when
the engine is running and if we do, the Check Engine light will come on and
we have to take it to the dealer to have it tested and reset the light. I can't
remember if I left the engine on while I refilled the gas the day I left the dealer
and it's on ever since then.

I took it to Autozone to have them tested and it came out with the code: Air/Fuel
Mixture. Do I have to take it to the dealer or can I just reset the Engine Light?

That happens only sometimes. It is very rare that the check engine light will come on while fueling. Also if it does its normally the air fuel/mix problem. You need to buy a VAG cable to use with a laptop. It allows you to reset the codes as well as do self diagnostics.
