Hi - I just put a new used motor in an 99 A4 QuattroT. I was very careful to tag all the wires yet still ended up with one that I have no idea where it goes! It comes down the small bundle of wires that goes down the side of the windshield washer fluid reservoir. It has a rubber casing with ribs - and a thin metal clip that holds it after connecting to the unknown place. It only has about 5 or 6" inches of play away from the tie in to the fender - so there can't be many options. Equally, in the same area, there is a support that has several horizontal holes toward the center of the engine away from the power steering fluid reservior. It appears that this wire might go to whatever goes there but I have no idea what I left out - Any help out there? I don't know anyone else who has an a4 - thanks Mark

Good idea but no. have the res plugged in. cord is too short to reach it (just to give a ref on how long it is). thanks

 

could it be temp sensor above lower radiator hose on the radiator?
