the audi dealer might be able to tell you who, or at least can tell you if....... the scanned mine and said it wasn't boost guage also told me so... if you can wait till i get my podi, you can have my set-up cheap

 

Once I fixed my boost leak coming from my old DV and picked up a new 710n, it seem to pull a little harder. So I thought I would take a look. Suprise Suprise

Well I just went out and did some movies with my camera and I'm doin 0-60 in 10.4-10.7 sec (in auto) - Now I really need to get a boost gauge and figure this crap out. That sh/t is worse that stock is supposed to be. Damnit I hate not knowing.
I called APR and they said to go to a local shop to have them check it out. Since I live in Bumfvck ville that doesn't have a tuner, I would have to mail mine into APR to have them check if it is there's or not - then possible GIAC and every other tuner out there

I know for a fact that they people I purchased the car from did not have it chipped (40ish female college professor) so I had found the previous owners ad on the internet after I had purchased the car(they never update those things) so I call lady picks up I ask for the guy who's name is on the ad. She kinda thinks that I'm a telemarketer, I tell her why I want to talk to him, she says my husband died last summer.....(anybody know voodoo). well after a couple uncomfortable seconds she asks if she can answer anything about it. she said that they would never have done anything like that for performance. So before that the trail leades to Alabama, so I'm SOL on learning from previous owners of the car.

 

Not neccesarily what tuners are in or around Alabama? You can then search tuners in the area just outside Alabama.

 

GIAC keeps your vin/ecu# on file and i think APR does too. Try giving them a call.

I emailed both APR and GIAC with my VIN we'll see if they email me back with the correct info or not. Last time I emailed APR to ask a question it took them 2-3 weeks to get back to me. I'll be happy if its either GIAC or APR but I don't know how happy I will be if its someone else. I'll wait till I get my boost guage to decide.

Usually when you have a generic chip in there it's a "custom" tune, or some little shop did it.
I don't think it's any of the big ones, APR, GIAC, MTM, or anyone like it. Chances are it's a eBay chip (stolen code from others), or maybe a TAP chip.

Usually if you VAG-Com the car, it will give you the ECU numbers, and there might be the flash program #. Do you even know your boost levels?

You might be better off just forgetting about it, & getting a new known chip in there.
