I was just wondering if any of you guys would know if the 2000 A4/S4 Headlamp housings (the HID ones) will fit on a 97 A4 1.8...

Yeah they should but the wiring will be diff. I'm not quite sure what you would have to do but its workable, someone else should chime in with the answer.

hahahahaha sorry seems like this question comes up everyday. You must be talking about the one piece headlights. Yea they'll fit with minor fender trimming, but you'll have to get a HID kit if you want HIDs go here http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext.html for DIY articles on how its done. I suggest euro clear corner headlights though.

Yeah, I am not too worried about the wiring, just the fitment... Some guy told me that he thought if it was a 97 then something to the inner fender or something like that, had to be moddified... the guys a douche I didn't really believe him but I'd thought I'd ask here where people really know since I want to change mine

Hey Trey do you know what exactly has to be done? When you say cut, is it a lot? Is it something I can do myself or will it require a body shop?

Yea you gotta shave the fender a lil bit. 10 minutes with a grinder and your good. The connector for the housing is round but on the 99+ its kinda rectangular depending on where you buy the housing you'll get the new connector with it. So you either gotta soder or crimp the new on. You don't need a degree in electrical engineering to figure it out but pay attention to where the wires lead to so you won't fock it up, especially if your running HIDs.
