You can install HID bulbs and ballasts in them but since you don't have the proper reflector or projector the light will scatter all over the place vs being focused on the road and you'll blind oncoming traffic.
I'm sure you have encountered this a few times already when driving.

Only way to fix the problem is to get proper headlight housings made for HID bulbs.
I advise not to put HID bulbs in a halogen housing. You've seen the crap results on the street cursing at the oncoming car the is blinding you wondering WTF is going on... well don't be that guy.
And you can get a ticket for that if you are outputting to much glare and are becoming a hazard to oncoming drivers.

What headlights did you buy? OEM B6 halogen projectors (H7s) will take D1S xenons, or D2S with an adapter. I believe the B5s used D2S stock. I put OEM HIDs in my car into my stock Valeo housings and they work great. The projector cutoff line is sharp.
