I am a new Audi owner and I am looking for some clarification. I keep seeing all these adds for HID conversion kits, but I thought the Audi's already have HID's. Are the kits to make theHID's brighter or blue? Hopefully I don't get torched.

 

the factory lights are just halogens, not HID. the HID kits will have new bulbs

 

Audi's can either come with HID's or Halogens from the factory. If you already have HID's then you can just change the color of your bulb with a new set. If you have Halogens and they factory headlamps that have a projector style lamp, then you will need to get the conversion kit to upgrade to HID's.

If the car has ballasts, does that mean you have HID's?

 

yeah the bulbs should be Ds2 if it came from the factory
