Why worry about high flow cats, just get a whole cat back from borla or something. Thats a better idea.

cat back systems dont come with a cat!!! Hence the term "cat back"- "everything after the cat"

Depends on what kind of emissions test they do. If they hook something up to your exhuast youd fail, but if they do an obdII type i think youd be ok as long as there is no cel. Cats/high flow cats are a rip off for the 1.8t unless you can find a universal one that will line up right.

in defence I removed my cat 3 yrs ago and passed every test without it, I also blocked the EGR system off the guy asked where was the cat so I told him I never keep pets in the car because its too hot

If you really want a high-flow cat get a Labree Test Pipe. http://www.tantrumwerks.com/html/18exhaust.html

$260 isnt that bad for a high flow. or 210 for Test pipe
