Default Highs too high, lows too Low, a Headlight Dilemma!

hey, I recently replaced the bulbs in my low beams on my 99.5 a4.

Ever since then, the low beams are pointing way too low and when I adjust them up the high beams are then pointing way too high!
Has anyone encountered this and how do I fix this?

Thanks,
Don

The highs and lows should adjust at the same time so if your adjustments are made properly both should be within spec. What process are you using to adjust the headlights properly? Are you using an adjustment kit or eyeballing it?

Also, if they are zenons your spinning your wheels because the adjusting motors are gonna move the lamp all over the place without a VAG COM to tell the headlamp module your adjusting them.

I've been trying to work this out for the last month or so. I got new bulbs, put them in that threw everything off so I manually adjusted them. Then went ahead and went through vagcom to save the settings but now my passenger side high is shooting into the trees while the lows for both sides are about 1ft off the bumper.

Did you do both data blocks? You adjust them in data block 1, then once your done you go to data block 2 and it should say settings saved.

Yea I opened up module 55 and then block 1 turned the lights on, the adjustment motor on the passenger side seemed to keep running for well over a minute and I eventually just started adjusting the lights. Got them to where I thought was good and logged block 2. Said learned and then the next day they didn't seem to be in the spot I put them the night before.

Go back to the module and see if there are any stored faults. If there isn't take off the negative cable on the battery and leave it off for about 10 minutes. Re-connect the battery and re-adjust the headlamps again.

OOPs, i meant to say after 10 minutes take off the red cable to and touch the two cables together. This is called a 30 power re-set.
