A few days ago I noticed when I pound my gas I hear turbo spooling then a consistent HISSING, however sound like is coming from driver side of hood.

I haven't change my DV yet after I got chipped, planning too and also boostgauge.I searched and most said need to get new DV.

I don't have a CEL, maybe alsovaccum leak? any suggestion?

 

Could definitely be the dv...

 

My guess would be the DV but the DV in my 1997 a4 is near the passengers side

 

def. sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all of your lines and hoses. I agree with bendet that the dv is on the passenger side. the dv also doesnt really hiss while at wide open throttle even when bad. If you have a vacuum gauge/pump you could hook it to the top of the dv to see if it held vac but I doubt thats the problem

 

check for a boost leak

update: problem fixed a while ago but just wanted to fyi update.

finding boost leak was a bitch! I bought a boost gauge just for some t shooting, after long hours of trying to find where the boost leak was. I found a crack in one of the hoses. pic below, i'm not a techie but, what to you call this? I just got bought same item at audi dealer for a few bucks however, the new hose was braided. boost leak fixed!

 

yep, thats was the same part for me. almsot all of our cars get a leak there. just a weakpoint

I call it the most common vacuum leak on these cars. The newer version of that hose is a little beefier.
