ok so to scew up my whole night i just finished having my car completely detialed i mean i spent 7 hours for 2 days on just waxing and clay baring my car the car looked the best ever so yesterday i my wife and i went out with our friends on my way home i was making a right hand turn and this mdx was behind me tailing me the whole time so i was going to make my right the mdx passes me on my left and then tries to make the right with me but never looked and smashed into the drivers door and fender of my car, so then i stopped and looked at the guy and then they took off so i followed doing about 80 through city streets got his plate number and then pulled over because i didn't want to get into another accident. so now my baby has scratches all over her door and he dented the door and fender and pushed in the door pretty good. I called the cops and of course basically he said he would go the registered owners house of the vechicle and issue him tickets but then he said that i should just probably get my car fixed on my own, i was furious what did i do that i would have to pay out of pocket for someone elses mistake? So now i don't know what to do weither i should call my insurance, but then my insurance will go up or wait for the police report and hope this guy has insurance to cover my vehicle? Any ideas please if you would help me out. I have some pictures but my car is so clean it's hard to see the real damage but the scratches are deep so i don't know what to do i need a new door skin and a fender, so if you know of where i can get one that would be great i live in New York. Also i have a stock k03 turbo used for 6 months it's the stock turbo off my silver audi also i have a stock front grill off an s4 with the s4 badge in perfect condition there is no broken tabs on the grill and it's in perfect condition. i got screwed more - dents in fenders, door ding, scrapes etc

 

so what should i do now that i have this damage and need new door skin and fender do i call my insurance company? or just fix it on my own?

 

Thats sucks man. My roommates car got hit and ran last night.

 

i had one in the parking garage last wednesday, 1700 to replace both bumpers and fix the trunk lid!! out of pocket too, it was an expensive night out

 

where's agood place to get OEM fenders, bumpers and stuff?

i need to replace 2 fenders, both front and back bumpers
