Default HOLY SH.IT

I just got quoted $1,500 Aussie Dollars ($1150 US$) to GIAC chip my 1.8t 96 A4. Do they sell the chips online? And can I send my ecu away to get the software upgrades.

Also he said depending on my ECU box I might not be able to get a chip. Has anyone heard of this before? If so, how can I tell?

we didn't get the 1.8T here until 97, but i think the engine codes are the same as the euro 96 models...it should work fine, just give the chip dealer your VIN and they'll be able to confirm whether it will work or not

Check around in Australia for other sites that might do the GIAC chip for a better price.
