Default Hopefully getting a 03, 3.0 A4 soon.

Hey, new the forums, first post. Will try to keep this short, but my current vehicle (95 Jeep Grand Cherokee) has a blown tranny and it just so happens that my uncle is getting a new company car soon and is willing to sell me his Audi for a very good price. The car has been maintained perfectly at has a little over 50,000 miles on it, it also has most of the available options minus nav. For the price I will be getting this car for it cannot be beat so I am pretty excited. It is also a 6 speed, which is great but only problem is I am not great with standard, never owned one before. I have actually driven this Audi and few times and thought the clutch was pretty easy on it, well much easier than my friends STi, I just hope I don’t destroy the clutch in a week learning on it, I wish I had a friend with a beater that I could learn on.

But anyway I am already starting to think about what mods I can do to the car, unfortunately after reading the newbie guide it seems that there is not a big aftermarket for the 3.0. As far as performance goes it looks like I prob won’t do much besides intake/exhaust, mainly for sound. As far as exterior goes, I will prob just tint the windows, but I would also like to get rid of the amber on the headlamps, I will have to search for more details but can this be done without replacing the whole light with an aftermarket unit? So basically what are some things that a new Audi owner should know? I expect the car to cost more to maintain, but that’s the price of owning a nice vehicle.

Dont worry about modding it so much yet until you learn how to drive it. Take it easy with the car till you get your clutching down. Oh and if this is Quattro DO NOT drop the clutch for anything! (burn out, race....) Other than that just hang-out search ideas you have keep up on the maintenance and congrats on the new car. Oh and welcome to AF.

yeah i would just learn how to drive it and then worry about modding it. and for the headligthts i beleive the only way is to get brand new ones and swap them out.

Ha yeah I forgot to mention it is a Quattro, I plan on babying the car because I feel extremely fortunate to be getting something so nice for someone my age (22). With the exception of one friend who has a 05 C230 Benz, most of my friends drive older no so nice vehicles. So it’s a good feeling to be getting a car like this.
