Hey guys i was talkin to my dad yesterday and there is a pretty good chance i will be buying my cousins 2000 blue a4 1.8T MT sports package soon since she wants to buy a audi TT instead. But here is my problem my dad isent a fan of exhaust systems he says that its not needed and it just annoys the neighbors so im going to have to try to convince him to let me buy a borla exhaust for the audi and hopefully hell understand that its not that loud. I was just wondering is it possible to buy the borla catback without the downpiple and stuff for less than 600 cause the full catback with downpipe is 650 i beleive. im just hoping i can buy just the exhaust without downpipe. how much would that cost and is it even possible? Oh and you guys have any ideas on how i can convince my dad :-D. Last question lets say he doesnt allow me to get the exhaust system is it possible to chip the car on the stock exhaust system?

if u want to save money keep teh exhaust that is on there and get a borla muffler and have a exhaust shop change it out for the one u have on there now. good luck wiht the car

 

but i wouldnt really get the best performance upgrade from that would i? and would that sound any different than if i just got the full kit?

 

what kind of exhaust is on there now? cus changing hte muflfer wont hurt or help u that much if u already have full exhaust

 

oh its a stock one thats the thing iwant something louder deeper and more agressive sounding at first i was thinking neuspeed but since my dads gonna give me problems with geting a exhaust i thought id get something cheaper.

 

oooo nm i thought u said it was too loud as it is and u dad wanted it quieter. ok it wont be that loud if u keep a resonator and muffler on ur new system. there are a bunch of sound clips floating around of people exhaust that will give u an idea of noise

 

yeh i kno i like the borla sound but is it possible to buy the borla catback WITHOUTTT the downpipe? and how much would that cost. i think i saw someone say they got theirs for 400 something

DUH im thinking and planning ahead trying to see how much money i need and what my excuse is going to be for the exhaust.
