on my 03 you just push the button at the end of the lever and it is set, and to cancel cruise push the lever forward, faster or slower move lever up or down, but I don't know what year your car is,
on the switch to the left of the steering wheel, infrot of the light one. slide the switch to the left ot turn it on, then push the botton on the end to set it and then its on
yeah its a 98 sorry about that.
yeah i slid the button to the left (i think thats the on position) and then i pushed in the button at the end of the level but nothing happens? Its stick does it have to be in 5th gear or something? or do you have to hold it for a certain amount of time? Unless mine is just broken.....
grrr thanks for the help guys

With the switch on the stalk set to on, just push the button on the end of the stalk to set the speed.
If it doesn't work, check the fuse (I believe it is fuse 31).
The usuaal cause is dirt or gunk in the switch accumulating over the years. You can try to get some TV tuner cleaning spray from Radio Shack. Get a bunch of paper towels and spray it in and around the switches and work them back and forth. That sometimes helps. If not, you may have to disassemble the switch or buy a new one.
