black wheels remind me of a car that had hubcaps but they fell off. aka looks old and crappy
but there are some exceptions, looks alright on darker cars every once and a while but never on lighter cars to me

^^ That totally makes me want to paint my stock 16s black. I personally love the look and hope to get (real) black wheels sometime. Don't worry about the stereotype.
