How do you get the black gunk off your exhaust pipes?
I washed the A4 today... and short of scrubbing on them for an hour each, the black **** wouldn't come off.
What do people use to get the black crap off the chrome pipes?
what's the best cleaner for this?

I like to take some lighter fluid and cover my tips and then hit it with some propane and a match. Then ill take a belt sander and polish it up. Then hit it with the torch again and run a rag over it, and then let it sit for about 10min and repeat the process.

I use Never-Dull, its in a polished aluminum can and you can get it pretty much anywhere. It is for polishing metals. Is your exhaust tips polished or are they stock. Mine are polished and it cleans them very well, i normally polish my exhaust everytime i wash my car, once weekly.

it is annoying and time consuming but the two processes on top by trailboos and audiboy work fine...youll just have to do the same thing every time you think theyre dirty again

I also use mothers aluminum polish, and I have ALOT of soot. The soot even stained my bumper, so if it can take the black off my tips, it can take it of yours!
