how do you remove the stock head unit ?

i have a 98 a4 quattro and i'm not sure how to reomove the stock headunit to install my alpine one ... it cant be that hard but i'm just missin it ... someone that has installed one before or knows how to take it out let me know ? ... thanks ... i have the standard system ( not the bose )

u need 2 special rods designed for both sides of the headunit.... in order to pull on both sides and pull out.... have fun.... i dont know where 2 get them.. ur best bet is an audi dealership... although there might b other ways.

ebay sells cheap ones, and occasionally they have the OE ones too....if you want the OE quality keys that won't bend as easily i believe www.clairparts.com has them for a decent price

Make your own.. ITS SOOOO easy.

I did it myself and head unit poped out 123!
