How do you replace a 2002 A4 front rotors and pads?
Is there an FAQ for this somewhere? I searched and didn't find...
My main questions are:
- Do the brake pistons compress in, or turn in? Is there a special tool required to compress them?
- Are the rotors secured to the lugs in a special way, or do they just slide off? Any special tools?
Thanks for any info...

I have a 99, so it may not be the same. The front rotors should come off with no fasteners holding them on. You have to remove the caliper.
If there are fasteners, look for large phillips heads. If it has them, it usually takes an impact hammer or tool to get them off.
The pistons on should go right in with any usual method (piston compressor, using the old pad with c-clamp, etc). It's the rears that need to be turned and pushed with the special tool.
