Well it's the first time my gas got low enough for the light to go on. I noticed that the light goes on very early compared to other cars. (Now, Im not planning to run the gas tank dry). How far do you think I can go with the light on? (It's a 1.8T) Thanks!

 

why would you do that?? i've never really went for a long time on empty.. fill it up when it gets to the red line usually before it triggers the light.

 

on rare occasion, I have let the trip computer get down to 5 miles to fillup with no issues

 

yeah..i got it down to 10mi the other day....its kinda nerve wracking...just pay attn and fill it up when you can...best solution haha

 

Well I just got the car.. This was my second fillup and well I noticed that the light goes on at the red line... Just wanted to know how much gas is left in there..

 

it's about 45 miles left on my 2.8. not sure bout the 1.8 though.

 

haha you guys are going to be like wow you are an idiot to me...i drive my car on 0 miles till empty for like 30 miles...i have driven to school and back starting out on 0 miles till empty..its 15 miles there and 15 miles back...So then i put 5 bucks in, and the info thing says 5 miles till empty..so its wrong.

 

maybe ur fuel lvl sender is a little messed up. or the system may have been designed that way

 

I would say about 55-60 miles when it hits the firstred line...im not even joking i have driven mine way below the 2nd red line.

 

I've driven mine for several miles after it hit 0. I think the reserve is like 2 gallons? It'll say in your manual and you can make a better guess based on your actual fuel economy, but in mine, I probably wouldn't try to go more than 30 or 40 miles.
