Default How to get small scratches out

I got a used A4 that has a black exterior. Black cars look great, but you can see the smallest things. Now,i see small circular scratches on the hood that looks like it was washed not very carefully(i assume). They aren't deep but just circular marks that you can tell are a little bit scratched. Is there anything i can do to help make it not look quite as bad? Granted, its a little nit picky becuase you can't really see it unless you get close to the car but it still bothers me. So anyone have anything that can help?

Thanks for all the help.

if you wet sand sand with 2000 you need to buff it with machine to bring it back just wax wont do it

You need some polish, or cleaner to remove the scratches.
Wash it
Clay it
Polish/clean
then Wax.

How many RPMs for the buffer?
Also, will this stuff actually get it out or is it just going to cover it up like a lot do?

I have two places with a few swirls/ light scratches, and I can buff it, use scratch-x and then wax it and it looks awesome. Then after a few weeks and if it rains, it comes back![:@]

im not a fan of scratch-x....if u want to compound first with a wool pad use meguiars diamond cut 2.0 works great buff with a clean wool pad at 2200 rpm or so depending how comfortable u are with ur buffer...i use speed settin of about 4-4.5 on the dial on my makita....make sure the paint is cool and it is done in a garage or somewhere shady...follow with the foam pad, make sure its a finishing foam pad and use the meguiars #3 at about 1500-1800 rpm, after u finish pull out into the sun and see if all swirls are gone before u start washing, if not fix the spots u missed then follow with a good wash and wax..dont forget the door jambs!
