Might sound like a stupid question [but I am new to driving manual] by slipping do you mean the same slipping that occurs when you don't shift well and don't release the clutch when you should, allowing it take up extra slack. How or when does it slip in 4th or 5th? does this happen when you're driving? How can I tell if its slipping??

One way to test for sure if the clutch has any slip, is to drive at 30mph in second gear, and simultaneously brake with the left foot. Don't overdo it (don't kill your car), but you should certainly find that the car will slow down, and the engine too. If the car slows down but the engine doesn't... you gotta problem!
