Default How many miles are to much for a 1.8T?

I knwo everyone is saying to get the 99.5 and drop a trubo (most likely the K04) into it. So how many miles are to much for this car? I want it to last for a while longer. Also i know i need quattro and sport suspension but what other options should i try and get?

Well it all depends on how well you look after your car. If you are gonna buy one and work to hell, then I suggest as soon as you buy it, take the front end off & do all the belts & front seals. That would be my first point of call. Apparently it is not uncommon to get up to the 300k miles mark. I dare say most of those engines would be pretty much stock though.

i would stick to buyin well under 100k mi. it sounds like you have the funds for a nice 99.5 with lowish miles.

i bought my 2001 last year and insisted on one with less than 30K on it
i found one, but it was expensive
28K miles, still had warrenty AND free scheduled maint. left on it (almost a year)
and having the factory sport package was VERY important to me

..... so i guess what i'm getting at is.....
"how many miles are too many ?"...

well, take the year you want, options you consider mandatry, and amount of money you can afford to put into it
and get the one with the least mileage....

but personally.... i would never buy a car with more than 60K on it
but thats just me

JD you bought it as a baby. ive seen 01's with that kind of mileage for like 18-19k. you can save a few grand by sacrificing 20-30k miles.

well i was thinking like under 75,000 mi. for a 99.5 or 2000. I would have all of the car inspected thou. And i know about the timing belt an dcrap liek that. And i take very good care of my cars, they get all teh service they need done.
