how much boost should i be seeing with the APR chip?....just installed the AWE boost guage in my 2000 1.8t. im seeing a spike of about 17psi settling down to 15psi. the only mod i have is the APR 93octane chip. is this about right?

 

i have a 2000 1.8t with the apr 91 with a vdo booste guage and i spike at 22-23 and average out around 18-20 psi. i had a problem about a 2 weeks ago with me spiking at 17 and averaging around 14 so i got it pressure tested and found a lil pin hole like in my T conection to my booste gauage, all is fixed now. when did u get chipped? diid u just start getting these readings or has it always been like this?

 

Since it is a 1.1 chip, you should be holding around 16 psi

 

get a new divertar valve

i was spiking 18, then i fixxed a boost leak and it went on spiking 22, but it fropped back down to like 16 now for spike and hold

so i need a new DV

 

forgot to mention ive got a 710n dv, installed it when i got chipped

 

I have the APR 91 Octane along with all the mods in my sig.

I'm only hitting 15-16 PSI then it holds for about 3-5 seconds depending on how hard I'm pushing the gas, ocasionally spike a little higher then that.

Then it falls back down to 10 ish because of the manifold, then hits 15-16 again and repeats the process.

Is this normal?

 

22 on a apr stage 1? I have the apr stage 1 93 octane and I peak at 18-19 sometimes and hold at 16

 

you sound jealous - keep in mind spikes arent necessarily a good or 'cool' thing.
if you're spiking with a 710N you might want to look into a mbc with stock dv.
