Default How much it cost to replace the timing belt?

I have a 2002 Audi Q3.0, and I think it's about time to replace timing belt. About how much does it cost to replace a timing belt? and where do you recommend get the service done and preferred at a low price?

Thank you.

BTW, what's a good sign indicating that it's time to replace the old timing belt?

You can do it yourself for arounf 250 bucks (including water pump) if you have a basic assortment of tools.

Front bumper and radiator needs to come out too... so if you want to DIY, it will take a good 8-10 hours

Yeah front bumper and peal to the side the radiator. Its a huge task, definetly a long job 8-10 hours is about correct when I did it. Parts for me were about $320 which included tubes, belts and water pump. Best to do them all since your in there anyways.

8-10 hours? Yeah sounds about right for a first time job. I can do it now in about 4 hours. But the first time I did it I took my time and was careful. It's not a HARD job, just a time consuming one.

4 hours? that doesn't sound realistic... anyone I talked to said it will take at least 6 hours.... even the dealership and this guy that specialized in Audi said it will take a good 6 hours....

I guess you must know every bolt really really well to be able to do it in 4

Yeah it could be done in 4-5 hours if you know what you are doing. It took me 8 hours to do mine however.

Parts are more expensive for the 3.0L. I just did mine a few weeks ago. The kit cost me ~$500 from ECS + $30 for a Nuespeed Snub and labor was another $450.

It costed me 250 buks, and there is no need to take off the front bumper, I removed nothing passed fan. be a litle crampy but its managable.
took me 6 hours with a break of 2 hours on between for my daily cartoons. so like 2-work 2 cartoon 2 work. really easy considering I never done it before.
my mech wanted like 400-600 for labor to do it.
