I've got a 99' A4 1.8TQM. I've looked all over for the curb weight of my car but I can't find any concrete numbers. I think it's around 3,300lbs. Anyone know for sure? Thanks!

 

i heard the b5;s were around 3500 but i could be wrong. i remember that the b6 was supposed to be 40lbs lighter but i think i read that on some forum somewhere so its probably not accurate

not sure how accurate this is but i remember during the buzz on the release of the b6 it was supposed to be a more rigid and lighter chassis then the b5 by using laser welds 80% more. like i said though no solid data a few sites say one thing and another site said another.

 

that 2003 is a cvt . no quattro = less weight

CVT is the tranny which if I'm not mistaken is offered in either fwd or Quattro. It stands for continously variable transmission. It's an automatic transmission which essentially has a first and last gear but it has an infinite number of gears inbetween. Therefore there is no "shifting." It's cool driving one becuase your rpm's stay the same as long as your acceleration is constant.

There is no such thing as a CVT WITH Quattro .
They dont make them.

 

In my service book it says my car weighs 1457kg which equals 3205lbs
