My friend got into an accident and we cant get his hood open... please anyone any advice would be great... they want 200 to tow it to a shop. if anyone has been in this type of situation and knows how to pop it please help out.. latch is bent over.. heres a pic

 

hope you didnt tow it like that. a4's with quattro need a flat bed or else you will eff the quattro system up

 

yea it was towed with another set of wheel mounts under his rears... i couldnt imagine what would happen if they towed it like that

 

see if you can pull the grille out and then get to the latch

 

yea good call will do that but the hood latch is bent and looks like a bi!ch to get off. i was thinking something like prying it off with a screwdriver??? crowbar??? i dont know... insurance has get the car the way you see it in the pic[:@] which makes it harder

 

Sounds like someone needs to remove some aftermarket parts before the adjuster sees em. In any event youll have to pry that sucker open or remove the hinge from the body or hood. You probably wont get it lined up to close it if you do the latter.

 

hey man just pop the grill out and remove the 3 10mm bolts holding the latch to the hood, then you should be able to pry it open

 

good call... most towtrucks have dollies but still good to know.

have you tried getting at the popper from underneath maybe?
