How to safely start my car after 5 months?
I have been out of the country for 5 months and my car has been sitting all winter in my garage. It is a 2002 Audi A4 1.8t CVT. Before I left, I put a cover over it to protect the dust, and my roommate has put a slow charger on the battery on a regular basis. Before I left, the car had a full tank of gas to minimize the amount of air in the tank. I also put a gas stabilizer in it when I filled it up.
When I get back, what should I do to safely start the car? I will want to change the oil right away, but I'll need to start it up before then to get it up on the ramps. I would like to figure out a way to get the oil circulating a bit before I actually start it up. What else should I do?
Certainly I will also check all the belts, hoses, fluids, tire pressure and clean and wax the car as soon as possible.
