How should I buy an A4 dealer or private party?
Hey Guys,
I'm curious to hear how people buy their A4'S. Do you prefer to buy from dealers or do you only buy from private parties? Just wondering if enthusiasts have different preferences than the general population.
I bought my current g35 from a non-factory dealer, but all my previous cars have been from private parties. Myself I dont really have a preference, just prefer to find the best deal... how about you guys?

Depends on a few things. If you are looking for a recent car, like an 08 or up, the Pre-Owned program is great if you deal with a good dealership. Prices might be higher than buying from a private owner but the cars come with a 2 years/40,000km full warranty with roadside assistance. In my case, I was able to get brand new tires and brakes as well as a few accessories on the 2 pre-owned Audis' I bought so far. They only buy back vehicles with clean carfax titles and they inspect the crap out of them before putting them out for sale. And the service at the dealership has been nothing but amazing. But again, I guess it depends on the dealership.
My 2 cents.

CPO from the dealers are nice, and regular pre owned is ok too AT the dealer. DONT buy from a car lot though, whatever you do avoid them! Car lots buy back the auctioned lease and repo cars, but only the ones that are rejects from the dealers. The dealer keeps all the mint ones and if you look at a car lot they are all beaten off-lease crap. Private party is a great way to score a cared for car from the original owner, preferably a mom or someone who won't drive it hard. That I find most important, whoever drove it must have driven it lightly and done all the maintenance well.
