i have a 96 a4 theres black smoke comin from her a friend told me that my pump is turned up cud someone please tell me if this wud be right and how to turn it down.....thx in advance

more specs on the model along with mileage?

Where is smoke coming from? exhaust, engine compartment, interior, undercarriage?

All the time? At startup, only when cold, only when hot? Only when driving?

Is it an oily smoke or a sooty smoke?
