I think by sport exhaust he means aftermarket.
dont know if by sport suspension he means aftermarket, or the actual sport suspension.
and.. I dont know if he's selling those bottom wheels with it, but they do look sexy.
Im just waiting for an email back.
once i get one back im gonna consider seeing if we can take it for a drive and what not.

BTW http://hartford.craigslist.org/car/535929087.html I think thats a scam. It says its a 1.8T but has 2.8 trim, plus the price is too low even without the mods.
I dont think that its quattro though either, so it might be about right

Thats a rare color. Max I'd pay is 5500, maybe less.

...And it has an S4 badge.

I paid 6k for my 2000 2.8 V6 with 124xxx miles on it. The 1.8s tend to have a lower value from what I've seen when I was shopping around. Though it's modded, it shouldn't impact the kbb value. Conclusion - 5500 highest. Tell the owner it has too many miles so you're skeptical

well heres what i got in response.

Yes it's still for sale.
It is on the 3rd timing belt. 1st change at ~60k and 2nd change at ~95k
There is only a little life left on the tires.
The color is pelican blue. There are 3 (i think) in Reno and only like
a 100 in the US.
The car is very clean, if you like the pics you should see it in
person.

my questions to him were.
is the car still for sale.
has the timing belt been changed.
and is there any tire life left.

I think im gonna email him back and ask if hes going to sell the bottom wheels with it, and if the clutch has been changed at all.
and then maybe ill ask about checkin it out.

i wouldnt pay anymore than 5k if the timing belt water pump and serp havent been changed yet...i would also look at the rotors, and make sure no leaks and running tight.

i would of bought it just for the pelican blue[8D] BadluckAudi painted his that color and it looked sexy as hell. you should also see if you can buy those rims from him too. as long as everything checks out mechanically, i would get it. ask him if he'll let you do a compression test before paying. and see if he'll go down to 6k because of the tires. but 6500 is still a good price

I just recently sold my '96 2.8 with 120K miles for $5,500 so I would have to say it is a pretty good price. Like every one else has said though make absolutely sure that timing belt has been done or it will be $1000 more before you can blink an eye.

I know im reviving a thread, but he emailed me back and said.
The clutch is still the original, the wheels in the bottom picture are not included but can be bought for an extra fee, and the exhaust has been replaced with an APR aftermarket exhaust, and the suspension has Koni adjustable shocks and APRsport springs.

Still the original clutch..
is that a good idea?
how much you think a new clutch would cost?
