one thing that I have notice is that the 3.0 likes to drink gas..even when crusing @ 110 kph = 9 L /100km..which is high I guess....then again..I'm comparing that to my 2.0 gti which did the same thing in about 7L/100km....city driving is a killer with the 3.0..esp if u like 2 punch her a few times here & there..lol

Hi
Thanks l get the picture, 40% ofher driving will be in traffic and 60% of the driving will be on Hwy's. What l'm most interexted in is not the 0-60 performance but smaller bands like 20-40mph or 0-20mph's.
Is their any kind of turbo lag? And how are the brakes?

Thanks Again

PS By the way l was never interested in drag racing, my passion was road racing.

if ur talking bout 0-20 the turbo barely gets up the to boost. the 3.0 should be faster then. but 20-40 the 1.8t should pull up. that's considering just sitting there and punching it. no launching and no mods

Hi

Thanks for the info. Being that my wife is going to be driving it l can only guess that she will need a quick response within traffic and getting on hwy's.

It really is a good looking vehicle compared with the BMW 3 series vert. The only thing that l have noticed that the BMW has over the Audi is resale but l am not buying it for that reason.

Thanks again

Alan

Hi

One more thing l remember reading that an Audi 1.8t plus $500 =30hp. Is this a chip deal or something else? The reason l'm asking is the minute the extended warranty ends l would like to play a little. Plus with my wife putting on 90+ miles a day total or 360 miles a week (4 days) and 18,000 miles a year the 1.8T might make more sense. I will be getting it with approx. 80,000 miles after 3yrs figuring when l pick it up it should have approx. 22,000 miles.

Can the Audi 1.8T take this?

Thanks

Alan

You are probably right and the more l think about it, it makes sense. So it comes down to the 3.0 vert and most likely here in New Jersey it will have the quattro.

Thanks

If she drives like some woman slow and doesnt really go above 80 the car should last a good amount of time. But if she punches the car at redlights and loves going over 100 then the car might not last as long.
