Hi everyone.

I just bought RPM r505 wheels 18x8 with 235/40/18 kumho asx tires.

And i have a question :
The company included 4 hub centering rings. They are all the same(73mm) but only two of them fit the wheel. Other two are to big (the "hole" in two other wheels is smaller and i think they might need smaller centering rings.)

Do i have to put this hub centering rings or I can drive without them ?

When I bought my 18's I could not get them to ride smooth at all and had them balanced 3 times. They finally noticed that my hub rings were missing and they stuck some on for free and it smoothed it out right away. You can drive without them but you may get a vibe.

 

The hub centering rings center the wheel on the spindle. If they are not used the centering is left to the lug bolts which need to be tightened very carefully with the weight of the car off the wheel. You can measure your wheels and get centering rings from this guy on e-bay. He handles quite a few sizes.

you need 57.1 hubcentric rings

 

The 57.1 mm is the hub or the IDmeasurement. Now you need the inside rim or OD measurement also. And they vary with different wheel manufacturers. Lets explain it very simply. Its nothing more than a bushing that fills the space between the spindle hub and the inside hole of the wheel so theres no play between them.

Personally, I use Mobile 1 0w40. If you do a search, you'll find numerous threads on oil. This topic has been covered to death, literally.

I will post pictures for hub rings when i get back from school.

O.D is 73mm
I.D is about 57mm
And only two of them fit.

Like 2 wheels are different kinda.

I measured the wheel and it seems that i need ~66mm(I.D)

 

I'm not sure why two wheels would be different if they are the same manufacturer and model. Especially if they were purchased at the same time. And 57.1 is the inside / Hub measurement. I cleaned mine off real good with a wire wheel to get that measurement. Any smaller and they might split on you. I have ASA Sport edition wheels and heres what fit mine.

Or can i just put them on two wheels.

Or maybe there is some special "way" to put wheels corretly wihout hub centering rings ?
