hub help asap
98 driver side rear wheel. the bearing went bad so I put a new bearing in. ever since I put it back together sounded like the brakes where grinding, so I put new pads on. still no good now it sound like the wheel going fall off. when you jack the car up the wheel will wiggle back and forth like crazy, so am I right to believe the hub went bad. and can I and how do you just replace the hub. and where can I just get the hub. I see then come up on a search on the net have no idea what one I need if they are even right.
Yeah man, that's your hub. Probably not safe to drive.
I'm assuming you changed the wheel bearing? Sounds like something went wrong during that install. If you don't have a 1 piece hub, the wheel bearing is usually part of the hub assembly. The bad bearing can grind and add the wobble. Did you pack the bearing with the correct grease?
FYI... Never did this on an Audi so not 100% on the setup. Just my experience from other cars.
Call summit or another big auto parts seller and they can usually help identify the parts.
