Default Need help on which car to buy asap!! Help!!

OK, i am a first time A8 owner.. I am looking at 2 2002 A8's . I will give you the breakdown of the 2 and you give me your advice on which to buy.

#1 has 133,000 miles, 18 inch factory rims, S8 side mirrors. Timing belt just replaced and new tires. price $7,000

#2 has 93,000 miles 17 inch factory rims, Navigation system, new tires.. but timing best will need to be done probably, my guy will do it for 500 total. Price $7,700

both are pretty much the same as far as conditon. Which one would you guys buy!?!? help!!

#2 is a better buy if you can get the timing belt done for less than $1,000, but thats a fat chance.

If you can get the first car for $6,600 go for it, both of them are listed well under blue book.
NO F****ng way can a tech do that job for $450. You need to change the water pump, thermostat, rollers, tensioner, and hydraulic tensioner when doing the T belt on an A8. Parts alone will run you $600+. Labor at the dealer is around 12 hours on top of all that, the average cost is around $2,200 out the door. Even when i do them on the side its around $800.

I'd say #1, IF you can see proof (i.e. receipts) tthat the TB was done. If not, go with #2. Even with the added cost of a TB job, you'e lookin at about 1 years worth of mileage LESS on #2 than #1. There's about 100 different things that that extra mileage can put in the soon-to-be-repaired category.
