hyperboost?
anyone hear of the hyperboost DV? i havent heard many people talk about it on here but i ordered a forge 007p from stratosphere and they said they were out of them but they can get me one of those. should i get it, wait until they have them in stock, or just use another source?
i would buy a 007 from the classifieds if i were you. they're cheaper and you can't really break them, so you dont gotta worry about getting a product that doesn't work. a hyperboost would work fine, but i dont remember if you can service them or change the spring.
Hyperboost is perfectly fine. As for servicing it, i have never heard anything about it, and i figure it will last long enough that when it does die, I wont put much thought into buying a new one.
khj677turbohow much did you pay for yours? they said it would be the same price, so does that seem worth it?
i have the hyperbosst and have had it for roughly 100k miles... still is strong and crisp... I oiled it once when i had it out. so as for reliability it is fine. sounds good with the intake too...
im reading a lot of which DV to get now cause i dont wanna make the wrong choice. most of the places ive read say the valve is a pretty important part of a good setup. so im wondering if i should get the hyperboost, forge 007, or the forge splitter. which would be best for my application, which will be speedtuning, with a FMIC and straight pipes?
They are all basically the same. There isnt a wrong choice. Basicall any of the below will be fine for a 1.8t
apr r1
forge 004, 006, 007, splitter.
hyperboost hx, compact
turboXS h25
baileys
samco
hks ssqv, type II
greddy type s, rs (with 25mm flanges, but seems to be less reliable)
Im sure i forgot some and i know that hyperboost has like 3 versions. Just get one of the above and if you never want to have to worry about it again, get one with a piston. Then you basically have to grease it every so often. Once a year or so is plenty.
