I hate that LOUD noise Help?
Hey
I have a 2000 A4 1.8TQuattro lately I been hearing a loud motor noise in the engine that comes on everytime I start the car. I'm talking about that hard cold sound (mmmmm) in the morning before the engine heat up, and after a few minutes the engine sound smooth. But the problem with the car now is that I hear that sound everytime I start the car and it takes a few minutes for that hard noise to go away. I thought it was normal for a while, but now it's getting louder & louder. If any y'all can help inregards on how to fix the problem what to buy I would appriciate the help. FYI I miss that smooth sound engine I used to hear from my car.

The car now have 75K & I bought it with 62K with a lot of probls. And I did everything you can think of in this car timing belt, new wires, tune up, brakes the whole nine yards. I change the sparks plug when I bought the car also a 1year-half. I was planning on doing anther tune up this summer but I didn't think thats what cause the loud noise & stuff. So any of y'all think so just let know what to buy to get rid of the loud noise to get the engine to run smoothly again.

Hey I did the oil last saturday Synthetic 0-40W & for gas 93-plus. so I do take good care of the car. The noise is just annoying making me think something wrong with the car in my head.

could be 2ndary air pump?? There is a cam tensioner chain or something like that on firewall side of the engine on top under the valve cover that can make some noise.. Other than that.. You may just have some sticky valves or struggling hydrolic oil lifters. How often do you change the oil?
