i m about to buy an Audi........need advice
You in Canada or Europe?
B5's are notorious for bad control arms up front, expensive timing belt jobs (even more expensive if it breaks!) and oil sludge issues...
You can search to find this type of thread posted a million times, though. I've given you some good search topics anyhow, if you want more info. It's all here!

Yeah... control arms recalled on several models. Expensive fix if not recalled on this model. And the miles are just about right for that problem.
Watch that ignition switch too (sorry, still a bitter topic for me)

As for the recall... only the LOWER control arms were recalled. Replacing the others has always been up to the owner. You were right about it being expensive, though.

Actually his mileage (in kilometers) is pretty low... usually they go at around 100-160K km's... (control arms)

Didn't catch the Kilometer part... was thinking miles. Isn't that just like an arrogant American.

if i m getting it i was planing to change the oil and filter in every 7000 kms and is there anything i need to look at too.

Timingbelt and all that other stuff @ 100 000 KM would be wise... the manual will say later than that, but don't listen to it!!!
Control arms, change them when they start to sqeak... sometimes they last 160 000 + KM
As for your oil changes... do it every 5000 km... makes more sense that way anyhow. Change it at 65, and 70, and 75... get it?
Trust me though... full synthetic, OEM filters (updated high capacity ones) and every 5K. You do not wanna mess around with the oil changes... when the sludging issue can destroy your engine.
I don't care what oil you use... do it ever 5K. haha, can I stress that anymore?
