i need help
ok i was on cars. com and saw this car http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...0&aff=national
i wrote the owner and this is what he wrote back.
Hello,
Thank you for your interest regarding my car. First of all i wanna tell
you
some details about the car. The pick up is not available as for the
moment
I'm not in USA. Right now I am in London, U.K. I am trying to make a
new
life in here cause my wife wants to be closer to her family. So only
the
shipping option can be used. The car is presenting in a very good
condition,
no damage or defects, it looks just the way showed in my pics, it is
stored
in a shipping garage. NON SMOKER!. I realise that is a cheap price for
such
a product but my special situation makes me do things that i would't do
in
normal circumstances and belive me it is not easy at all for me to sell
a
thing which was one of my dreams during last years. The price I hope to
obtain is US$4400, the shipping is free.
I overlooked the website to see how it can be done securely and I
noticed
that most sellers to close the deal with a third part.I have to decide
to
use for third party Safepay Solutions. The down payment will be done via
secure pay which means that the third party will keep the money until
you
receive and inspect the car. You have 10 days to inspect the car.
Waiting for your reply !
Thank you and have a nice day
my question is , is theis BS?
how should i go about handling this?

Man I don't know. I don't want to say anything bad about someone I don't know but my issues follow.
1. $4400, I got more for my Honda Civic when I sold it to my niece, suspect.
2. Does that website normally not list vin numbers or did I miss it, that should be one of the biggest things up there, suspect.
3. What the hell is safe pay solns? I think you can do the same thing with the widely recognized paypal. I've never heard of safe pay solns. Suspect!
If it were me, I wouldn't bother. But it is a dream deal and maybe worth looking into closer, but I think he owes you a more secure way of handling this. He could do a power of att for someone in states and you could fly to them and get the legad docs and the car like that. That makes a lot more sense. Hell I would spring for a plane ticket to get an audi at the price. Any other way is suspect! Be careful.

yea i was kinda wondering that that it was suspect. He is not geting any money until i see it. I don't care about a third party bs. It said he was close to me so i am looking into going to see it. That old saying to good to be true was my first reaction but ithought wtf might as well see if it is legit yanno
When I was shopping around online for my car I saw numerous things like that. People selling there cars for ridiculously low prices and one way or the other they were somehow "out of town" or "out of the country" I didn't even to finish reading the emails, off the bat I could tell they were scams. If it looks too good to be true, its a scam. Don't worry you'll find the right Audi, patience.
This sounds just like the scam about the laptop.
A kid in the states gets an rediculously large offer on his laptop, the buyer is in the UK, very polite and excited but wants to use a 3rd party for payment and not to deliever at a home address. The kid sees the scam but goes allong with it anyway.(he had internet friends scope out the phone address) Closed the deal and sends him a paper notebook with old keys glued to it and a hand drawn screen. lol I guess the buyer sent a virus to the sellers computer but nortons picked it up right away.
This scam is popular on autotrader also.
I am buying this car for a client, here is a check for more than what your asking so just refund me the difference and give me your car.
