FINALLY and I came across that the reason for the extra 20 hp in the 2001 was because of the Ko3 sport (though it seemed disputed that this was actually the case.) I was wondering if there was any updated information on that because if that is the case then a 2000 (dont hate me pre 2000, I know about the delay but I like the interior much better) would be fixed with the introduction of a new turbo.

 

just chipped the car then none of that k03 and k03 sport would matter anymore

 

VVT is also responsible for the increase. I think they increased boost by a couple psi in '01 too.

 

before i bought my 99.5 i test drove a 2001 .. and the 2001 seemed much quicker stock vs stock ...

 

yea its the vvt and the k03s that make that difference
