i think i know what limp mode feels like...[help!]
I was driving tonight and my car all of a sudden started vibrating REALLY bad and the CEL started flashing. I pulled over on the side of the highway and let it sit for a few minutes and cranked it back and it still did the same thing. The only time it would have any power at all was above 3000 RPMs and it still vibrated really bad. Below that was hardly tolerable. I had to get it to a safer place so I drove it about 2 miles back to my office and when I got out it smelled like something was definitely burning. Any thoughts? I have to get my GF to go get my vag-com cable for me so I can diagnose this.

How many miles are you at?
Your snub probably intensified it

I think I'm at about 105k miles or so. Thanks for the advice. If I vag it, it should show a misfiring cylinder, right? and then I'll move the coil pack to another one to see if it changes?

hahaha, EXACT same **** happend to me, g/f was in the car and everything, i was at 105k as well..it was the pcm, the little thing on top of the airbox, it went out.
first check the coil packs swap those around and vag. im almost positive thats what it is, its is most definately a misfire...
like not even kidding, same exact scenario. check that pcm.
