I want one!!!

Hello all,

I’m an owner of 1999 Honda Prelude and soon I will be changing my car. I am at the stage of my life where practicality is starting to play a big role and my next car ought to be a four door. Still, I’d like a car that will give me some driving pleasure. My Prelude was satisfying enough, I take it to the track 3 to 4 times a year, it takes the beating and it’s still a nice daily driver... but times are changing.

Currently I am considering Acura TSX, Lexus IS300 and of course Audi A4. I am a big fan of Audi, and I would not even think about other cars if A4’s engine (1.8T) produced more power. I can not afford A4 3.0. A4 is definitely the most beautiful car in it’s class and even in the classes above.

What are your thoughts about the competition?

Thank you.

Yes, I am looking fora new vehicle.

My main concern with modifying the engine performance is the effect on the reliability. I am looking for the "fun out of the box" car. How much fun is A4 1.8T?

An acquaintance of minehas a 1999 A4 with TT turbo, modified injectors, intake, exhaust,.... and more. last year he ran 14.1 second in a1/4 mile. My car is stock (apart from the suspension and brake work) and I managedto do one 15.1 second run. So, I know that 1.8T can go.
But, he put in the TT turbo because he blew the original.
I believe that I would be able to get by with the RWD vehicle. I live in Toronto and although this year has been extra snowy, roads are pretty clean all the time.. and I do not drive much.

Still, AUDI is my choice #1.

As far as reliability, you can get chips that are milder boost, like Stage1, as opposed to Stage 3, APR. And if you get a chip that it socketed, ifthe carbreaks, just put the stock chip back in and take it in under warranty.

I just got this months Motor Trend, and they compare an Audi A4 3.0 with a G35 sedan, you might wanna check that out. Also the Base price of a 1.8T is $29,950, for the 3.0 its $38,410, but as with most german lux cars, that price can quickly climb with all the nice options you just have to have. As for numbers, the 1.8T does 0-60 in 8.1sec, 1/4mile in 16.3sec, the 3.0 in 7.0sec and 15.3sec respectively. The Lex goes for like $35k base price, and is about a have sec quicker to 60.Take each one for a thorough test drive. I test drove 5 cars before I bought my 98 A4 1.8T.

is300 is nice and actually i was planning on getting one before i bought my A4 turbo . i LOVE IT . buy the audi , the turbo is the amazing. and not that many people have fixed up audi's if you were to fix it up
GET THE AUDI
GET THE AUDI
I Live in canada...and you know how the weather gets up here. I was driving in bad weather conditions with no problems. It feels like you are driving a SUV at times, just goes over snow like nothing. Although those other cars are very nice...I think you should go with an AUDI
