Hey all,

I have a 1999.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Sedan, and just got it back from the shop today- got a GIAC chip, as well as a 710N TT Diverter Valve. I LOVE IT! However, I am mechanically disinclined and don't know anything about anything, so even for the chip I had a shop take it out and send it to AWE. That said, I want more power now!! It's awesome! But, as I'm an idiot (LOL) I need a detailed, step-by-step list of what to do. I want a turbo, I understand the K04 is the simplest to get, so what EXACTLY would I need to get (I need more stuff right?) in addition to the turbo? I would order it from AWE-tuning.com.

Intake?
Exhaust?
K04 kit?
...

Anything else? I'm not planning on racing or anything just want a nice, fast car. What would this cost me? What should I get? How much will a shop charge to install it?

Please, help me out and be easy. I really have no clue what I'm doing.

since you got your giac, just get a K04 no need anything else. enjoy the gain

 

new spark plugs and a oil change would be good.

 

I'm about to do the same thing in a couple days, a4...I'm getting a GIAC chip and Bailey DV. Is the difference noticable to you? And I was also wondering what I should do next. I have a K&N filter on the way and am saving up for a Borla Cat-Back Exhaust, but beyond that I'm torn between a new suspension, exterior design, wheels or a new turbo. Would be great to hear feedback from some of the veterans.

 

I have the GIAC chip K&N drop in and Borla 2.5 cat back and the gains are definitely noticeable but the feeling will wear off, its been like 3 weeks I have had mine and I want a bigger turbo now........

I cannot explain to you how much of a difference the chip made. When you get your car back, you'll wonder if it's the same car! It's AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine how I could drive my car *stock* for 6 months before.... but badluck is right on... once you start, you just want more.

So if I get a K04, won't that screw up my car if I don't upgrade other stuff?

Naw just get spark plugs and you can have your ecm reprogramed with more giac software for the k04, an exhaust is recomended for best gains but your not gunna hurt your car

 

no dont worry K04 + Giac is a good couple with a nice piece of plugs. Only death can separate them.

 

arif, what do you mean by "plugs?"

also, what do you think theyll charge to install the k04?

Plugs is spark plugs if you search you can find the ones you need to get........ If you have some one do it there gunna charge you quite a bit, if you have any mechanical know how its a pretty strait forward project, you can find how to do it in a manual and just follow the steps
