Default IAT Sensor Help

I have a 2002 Audi A4 3.0 quattro. I bought a performance chip that connect to the wires of the IAT Sensor. I have two questions. One, where is the IAT Sensor located?? and Two, if i splice into the harness, will this cause any issues other issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

IAT = intake air temp sensor which is a 2 wire connector on the throttle body, I cant see any problems splicing into the wires and I assume your adding a digital read out to monitor the air flow ( that's ok ) if your adding something to alter its performance ( that's not recommended ), if your adding something to fool the system the air temp is better than what it actually is then don't be surprised if you do some internal damage to the engine

OMG..... don't call that thing a chip. it's a 10cents resistor. [&:][&:]

You are driving a Audi, not a civic....

So what would you suggest to get more performance out of my audi? I already bought a AFE filter and that seemed to help, but I still want MORE!
The "chip" (ie 10 cent resister) is from contestmotorsports link http://contestmotorsports.com/My_Hom...les/Page1.html Please lte me know

yeah that's it. cheap ebay stuff. you can get it from Radioshack. I dont know what ohm the resistor is.

IMO just dont do it. It just mislead your IAT sensor to put more air/fuel or whatever in the engine.

Go with more safe stuff, it's audi ... if you break something, it's gonna cost you a lot!

Save your money for cat-back. it's your best option for now.

What do you mean by Cat-back? Do you know anything about the jet chip?

Those BS resistors usually tell the car the air coming in is 32 degrees F. Colder air is denser air so your car will probably be running rich. Not a good thing for your car, especially your catalayic converters.. The IAT is there for a reason, and if there was some magic resistor power adder wouldn't ALL the car companies use it?

leave it alone because its only a resistor which fools the ECU into thinking the air its getting is the best result the one thing it doesn't tell the ECU is things change so the system changes to compensate the engine performance values in the ECU and with this so called upgrade the ECU becomes blind to whats really happening to your engine and I have seen some very nasty results because of it
