I have a N reg A4 1.9tdi.
The other day the key started sticking in the barrel and then it turns on but will not stay on! It also really hard to get the key out of the barrel and it really needs a good pull and wiggle to get it out!

I have had the barrel out and wierdly the key turns fine and goes in and out no problem. you can put a screw driver in the switch at the end of the 'tube' where the barrel fits and it starts but does not stay on......the mech just springs back. Does the barrel hold the mechanism in place?

Also any ides on the key/barrel problem??
