My 98 A4 stalled on me last week, I parked for an hour outside a store and when i got out and tried to start the car wouldn't start, it makes an attempt to start but fails, when i hold ignition key turned in for about 2-3 minutes it finally starts....then it ran fine for a weeka s if the problem never happenned ..but it did the same thing to me yesterday night ..it was not particularily cold both the times..anyone know whatz going on here?
Also, Forgive my ignorance, but can some one tell me what a temp sendor(not sensor) is?
any help appreciated ..

I had a similar problem with my 98 A4. It turned out to be the temp. sensor.
Very easy to replace. About 20 minutes It is located between the engine and the fire wall and should have a blue top on it. Make sure the engine is cool and you will lose some anti freeze. Does your temp guage work? It also
controls the guage. As far as I know it is the same as the sendor.
Good Luck
