Default Indicators skipping - PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Hi All,

I have A4, 1.8, year 2000, and on the way to work this morning my indicators started acting up. When you give left signal, sometimes it starts normal and after 2 ticks it skips and than starts very fast (as if when the bulb is gone) and than skips again and back. The rights signal is skipping more so than anything else. Than the other time when you give signal it will click 4 times and it will stop even though you did not return the lever or steering wheel. And than sometimes it will not even start for few seconds at all.

I am not really sure what the hell is wrong with this at all so any suggestions would help. Any way I could even check to isolate the problem? Please, please help!

Thank you all in advance!

the turn signal relay is in the centre of the dash, with the hazard relay. they're both directly behind that big red triangle in the top middle of the dash. pull it apart (carefully!) and clean your contacts, see if that helps. if not, your relay is probably bad.
