Default Infamous rear fog or what?

I have an 01 TT and tonight I was following my fiancee in her A4 (for a change, its her following me usually.) I noticed her rear lights weren't symmetrical. I took 2 pics for reference. Whats going on here? Just want to know if I have to replace a bulb on the right side or not.

TIA for any help.

With brakes on:

No brakes:

It is the rear fog light. Audi only put one bulb in so it doesn't look like brake lights.

audi, and most european car manufacturers, usually put a rear fog light on their cars. it says in the owner's manual that it is only to be used in times of extremely poor visibility, so turn it off! the reason it isn't symmetrical is simple: if it was symmetrical, the rear fogs would look like brake lights because they're so bright. if it really really bothers you, you can put a bulb in the right taillight, there should be a slot and harness for it I believe. I know it's been done on A4's anyway.

I drive around with my front fogs on all the time. I never turn my rear fogs on (and I have both lights in it) unless it's night time and someone is tail gating me!

Ummm, yes,

although the post is finished, why didn't you post it in the TT forum?

...because the question is actually about an A4. if you look closely at the rear of the car in the pics, it's easy to see that it's an A4, not a TT.

Sorry I didn't clarify in my first post. Also I'm 99% certain she doesn't have a seperate switch for the rear fog. Its been awhile since I've driven her car though so I could be mistaken.
