Hi all,

I have been trying to find some information for the crankcase breather assembly. I want to know what that whole assembly does.
I have a broken (almost exploded) hose that causes an oil smell and I will replace it soon but I just want to understand it more before I do anything.

when I inspected the breather hose at the top rear of the engine I was that there was alot of junk in it. It is like oil+dirt. I am worried what could have caused that. and do I need to clean inside the valve covers too.

Anyways if somebody could show me a source to read about this that would be great.
