Default Innercooler- (good or bad)

Is the innercooler bad for my car? Like does it put stress on it????

I have a 98 A4 1.8t FWD.

Also, since i bought my car with the intercooler, what used to be there???? I have one of those HKS filters to replace my stock airbox that goes into the turbo, but what used to be where the innercooler was??? Thanks[X(]

a innercooler is actualy very benifical to a turbo car. it bacicly keeps the coolent temps down. the stock 1.8t come stock with one small intercooler ( right behind the fromt bumper...drivers side). is this the one you are talking about or does your have an aftermarket one (usualy big and sits in the behind the middle of your bumper). the cone filter prob just replaced the stock air box. nothing bad about that eather.

hope this helps

Your turbo car already has a small stock intercooler. Its side mounted and on the
drivers side. You are talking (I assume) about an FMIC, front mounted job.

They are not bad for your car and do give performance enhancements.
